Is cilantro a perennial?by Tara Nolan |
I was puttering in my herb garden a couple of nights ago and among the helicopters I was having to pick out of the dirt from the giant maple next door were two little cilantro plants. Cilantro is kind of tricky, isn’t it? I’ve had a hard time with my seedlings this year that I started indoors–they’re a little spindly. But last year I bought a cilantro plant (the one that reseeded itself) and put it right in the ground where it got the afternoon sun. Cilantro is tricky. Our neighbors have cats and they (the cats) like to nibble on the cilantro. Got smart this spring - bought a seeds and plants them in a hanging basket up and away from the cats. My cilantro is blooming and looking great and it also has morning sun and most of the days worth. This is the best cilantro growth I have ever had. Hope that helps!
