Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a question about Canadian Gardening magazine
or Canadian Gardening Online? Check here first for answers to
some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. If you
still have a question or comment, please send
us an e-mail.
Q: How is your site related to your
magazine?
A: The site is an extension
of the magazine. It's a reference site for gardeners looking
for information from the virtual community as well as a local,
real one. The site complements the magazine in that the information
can be more up-to-the minute. For example, a gardener can pose
a timely question in a discussion forum on the site and get
an immediate response from another gardener.
Q: Is there duplication in what's on your site and what's
in the magazine?
A: There is some overlap. The site is a compendium of
source lists, definitions, coming events, tips and insights,
some of which will also appear in the magazine. The site will
offer some information not in the magazine, however, and the
magazine will offer stories, projects, etc. that aren't repackaged
for the site.
Q: Do I have to subscribe to Canadian Gardening
magazine to visit this site?
A: No. Anyone with access to the Internet can visit this
site. However, if you are interested in subscribing to Canadian
Gardening magazine, click here.
Q: Is this Web site new?
A: This site is new as of November 1998, although Canadian
Gardening had a site previously. It had the discussion forums
but also garden profiles, with photos, adapted from the magazine.
Because photos can take a while to download, we found the garden
profiles were more suited to paper. So we regrouped, kept the
discussion forums, added other information-based components,
and have a new face.
Q: How often will your content change?
A: We're still working that out. Some features, such
as our catalogue listing, will be updated annually, while other
features will change weekly, to take advantage of the fluid
nature of this environment.
Q: Who's behind Canadian Gardening Online?
A: Some of the people who bring you the magazine also
provide information and design suggestions for the site are
listed here.
Q: Who do I contact if I have suggestions, comments or
questions?
A: Please send an e-mail to our online
editor
Q: I sent you an e-mail but I haven't heard back.
Why?
A: While we appreciate your interest, we can't promise
to reply to every query. But we'll do our best.
