My favourite small, striped English pottery jug sports a cheery arrangement of store-bought, velvety cockscomb (Celosia argentea) and shiny St. John's wort (Hypericum) berries, encircled by equally velvety, silvery green lambs' ears leaves from my garden.

The whole is topped off by a jaunty sprig of lantana that I pinched from one of my planters.
Tip: St. John's wort is a big drinker, so be sure to strip the leaves from each stem.
