Materials
- Cut flowers and foliage
- Vase
- Floral sheers
- Twine with built-in wire
- Ribbon (optional)

Step 1: First assemble all the materials you’ll need, including trimmers and twine.

Step 2: Use foliage to create the base and establish the ultimate width of the bouquet.

Step 3: Add the largest blooms you’ll be using (in this instance, hydrangeas). This will determine the ultimate height.

Step 4: Add depth by layering in smaller flowers and different types of foliage using contrasting and complementary colours, forms and textures. The green roses and white freesias used here are nestled into the gaps and tucked into the hydrangea blooms, which have a hint of green. “You’re putting together the pieces of a puzzle,” says Pellegrino.
