Long for the sweet satisfaction of a strawberry milkshake, but loathe feeling sluggish when it’s all gone? Look no further than this light recipe made with juicy, straight-from-the-vine strawberries, creamy yogurt and energizing chia seeds—it’s the best of both worlds.
- ½ cup ice cubes
- 1 cup hulled sliced strawberries
- 1 peeled ripe banana
- 1 cup skim milk
- 2 tbsp plain fat-free yogurt
- 1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped out
- 1 tbsp ground chia seeds
Put the ice cubes in a blender. Using the ice crush setting, pulse until the ice cubes are broken up into bits.
Add the fruit, followed by the remaining ingredients, to the blender and purée until smooth. Serve.
