Hi Sherri,
I had success planting them outdoors. I'm in a warmer zone than you but if you add some mulch to them and have them where they'll be more protected chances are they would come back. I find them very hardy I have the 10 to 18 inches tall ones.
Another thing I discovered on another forum is sometimes when you purchase them potted they have 3 to 4 in a pot that you can seperate and plant seperately. I've been doing that with success and they do great.

Thanks for all of this info and for the links. I will keep this info handy. Plus, I did notice I have a few seperate stems coming out of the soil, so I will spread them out a bit.
