I live in a zone 6 area and have just purchased an arbor with two side planters.I would like to plant something that is fast growing to cover the arbor and have the most blooms for the season. What are my best options?,and can you plant climbing roses in planters?.......plyplanter

In zone 6 you probably can. It depends on how big the planter boxes are.
If you went with something like a John Davis which is hardy to zone 3 it shouldn't be a problem.

If you are looking for an annual there are many that will fit the bill. Morning Glories, Silver Lace Vine, cup and saucer vine, just to mention a few.

Silver Lace Vine is no annual,it is a very hardy perennial and will overwinter in a planter box just fine.

I was just going to say that
My Silver lace vine is 5 yr old and it is perennial
I planted another last year so hope it comes back
They can be a bit thoucy in zone 5b if a harsh winter
I lost one after it was 8 yr old during a winter we had no snow
Just thinking tho, it properly is an annual in Lyn's zone 3
