The site says I'm 3b which is true...4a in some "niches" in the yard.

I'm Zone 5b, but I'm sure I have pockets of 5, 5a and 6!
In fact, I have one little area tucked into a corner at the back of the house, which never, ever, freezes! There's a pipe close by which blows out warm air 365. I'm going to try another Cut Leaf Japanese Maple there! My first one didn't make it through its' first winter!

I am a 5a and have grown a cut leaf weeping japanese maple for about eight years in my north facing back yard. It took a really bad hit about three years ago from an ice storm in the spring but has survived...though I doubt it will ever have the lovely shape it used to.
