Planting leggy tomatoes
Hello,
It will soon be time to set out tomatoes here in Victoria if it ever really warms up. Some of my plants have gotten a bit leggy. When I put them out in the garden can I plant them extra deep for stability? I have two foot high raised beds and was planning to take the bottom leaves off and plant them six to eight inches deep. Will this hurt the plants? Thanks

If you plant the tomatoes on an angle to get the long stems buried, it seems advantageous. They are then in the warmer upper layers of the soil. You also don't have to dig a deep straight-down hole!
They can be buried so only the top couple of leaf sets are out of the ground.
