Water over flower bed

Postby nwm1960 » May 04, 2008 7:13 am

Goodday All,
The rising waters have covered the beds (about 6 in)at the lower part of front yard, some of the plants were already starting to sprout, will they survive or will we need to start again. This bed has some phlox, coneflowers, irises, daylilies, and some other stuff. Water is supposed to crest sometime today, but with rain forcast for this week it may take a while to go down. Can't seem to get a pic to fit, even when cropped still too big.

Hi Norm:
We hope your water situation has improved.
If your perennial bed was an established one, it should be Ok. The root masses should hold the soil, unless there was very fast flowing water.
Guess you will just have to wait & see.

Water started going down yesterday. The bed should be fine still lots of green sprouts. Hopefully will be low enough to bring car across by tomorrow.

Hoping for the best for you Norm. I'm glad to hear the water is receding.
