Lowest basil leaves yellowish with dark spots

Postby dj_backq » May 06, 2008 10:05 am

My basil seedlings are about 6 weeks old and growing under a grow lamp. The lowest basil leaves on some plants are getting yellowish with dark spots.

What could be causing this? They are starting to get overcrowded could that be the problem??

My thoughts would be that the plant is putting its energy into the top growth and the bottom leaves are the first to die off (under a grow light situation). I would remove the bottom "yellow" leaves for cleanliness.

If it was a disease, I think you would see more than the bottom leaves affected.
