Ferns

I know there are ferns that tolerate drier shade, but I can't remember what they are. Does anyone have any ideas?

Barb, the one I have in drier shade is the Undulata Robusta(Dryopteris filix-mas). It's a Male Fern. Do a Google and learn a little more. I split mine for the first time last Fall. They are all doing very well in dry shade. :)
