What is the secret to keeping them going? I had good luck with the standard purple and pink one but the pale ones seem to get laden with whiteflies and just droop. I just got two lovely baskets for Mothers Day so am hoping they last.

hmmm I've seen your post a few times, but didn't have much to offer. I'm surprised no one else has replied yet.

I had two last year that did really well for me. Mine were not the basket kind, but the 'upright' fuschia. They were in full shade, only got a bit of evening sun. One was in my urn that dries out easy. The other was in the pot with no drainage wholes just some rocks in the bottom, and retained the water for a few days.

Both did great, so I really don't know what to tell you. I had a pink, and a white one. Perhaps too much sun? Not sure about the bugs, I'd spray with some dish soap and see if that helps.

Thanks for your response, Venice. I had good luck with the standard type too. I've read that they prefer a cooler summer and are hard to keep going in prolonged heatwaves. If they start to droop, will give a squirt of the soapy stuff.

I keep mine well watered and in a place out of the mid day sun...also I remove the "berries" that form once the blooms die so that it wil keep on blooming....some fertilizer every two weeks helps also.
