These are spreading beautifully in my garden. I once knew what they were called, but have forgotten. Anyone know? TIA!

I believe it is in the Centaurea Family :) I had this one many years ago. Commonly known in the Corn Flower Family I think. :)

Although vey similar to the thistle, Diane's plants don't appear to have the pricklies along the stem and the base of the flower is very different. I agree that it is the perenial corn flower. I have oodles of it in my garden. One year of not being able to garden and everything is now out of control. Love it, just need to bring it back into it's own spot. Edie

When I googled 'corn flower' there are a lot of varieties that came up.

One of them looks like this, but has no name or anything with it. I'll keep searching.

I believe that is called "Persian Cornflower" Centaurea dealbata, Persian Bachelor's Button or Ornamental Knapweed Trialblaze. Very lovely.
