Flowering crab....

Neighbour has a Crab he thought was dead. He was about to pull it out, but I noticed a bit of growth at the bottom. Is it worth giving it a bit of patience, and letting it grow???

I know what he feels like, I have a few suckers on the bottom of mine. I'm thinking of letting it go till we replace the tree. and then I might cut it, and stick it in water to root, and have a mimi crabapple ehehhe. I could then plant it when it gets a bit bigger. I can't take the time to let it grow from the base of the tree. My yards to small to wait on it, I need a specimen tree.

If it's in an out of way area, it might be worth a try. If it's in the front yard....not so sure.
