Transplanting to a Pot....

you certainly can plant it into a pot...but make sure it is a fair sized one...I would mulch the top of the pot soil. Place it amongst other plants or pots..where the roots of the clematis can get some respite from the heat....a pot can heat up really fast and as we all know this vine likes to have cool feet.
