What is this houseplant?

It like a shield plant but also a philodendron. Its doing well outside for the houseplant summer holiday.

Looks like a caladium to me, Katherine.

Looks like a Syngonium, commonly called "Arrowhead Vine" to me. It starts out growing upright but as it ages it turns into a vine.

So it is a syngonium, if it's vining. Hard to tell with the pic of just one leaf, but I've had many over the years. Attractive and easy plants!
