What's Blooming Right Now: 1st Week of July
Wow, the big news:
Mons. Jules Elie Peony
It opened up unbelievable this year. HUGE. Too bad I cut off 3 out 4 flowers before the thunderstorm warning on Sat night
But in the vase they looks absolutely awesome.
On the other hand, the first of the Leto peonies opened up, and I am again disappointed. It is just under-whelming. I guess, i like the bi-color Japanese more
Will not bloom this year: Nippon Beauty (moved it last year) and one more. I am thinking it might be Maxima, which is really a shock, not sure why. I thought it was an old true sort. It would make more sense if it is Sea Shell, but my tags get washed off in the winter, I will need to make better markers this year.
Well, I am really interested to see La France and Coral Supreme this year.
And ITOH still have a couple of growing buds (2 or 3 did not develop further)
Other than that:
Oriental and california poppies
Gypsi Clematis (what a show!)
Baby Breath
Victorias (blue)
Pink and purple sages
Blanket flower
snow in the summer,
seidums
rainbow aliums
martagon lilies (orange)
baby breath (joy in the border!)

Wow, that's quite a mix.
Update: Maxima opened up, but not too large yet(?) this year(?). I am not sure which one is lapsing then appart from Nippon's Beuaty. Coral Supreme is starting to show petals in the bud, soooo glad I got it, beautiful color already!
And, I was in the Zoo gardens and I am in love with Lilac Morning Itoh. I wish I could swing by the gardening centres and see what they carry. Hopefully can get one or two ITOH's on sale for my new bed in addition to Cytheria. I think I also will need to enlarge this peony bed a little to give more 'open soil' space before the bed's edge so the peonies have a better spreading space.

Re: What's Blooming Right Now: 1st Week of July
Right now what's blooming in my garden:
Roses: Impala & Winnipeg Parks
Twins Cool White Tree Mallow (Almost done blooming)
Mandevilla
Wishbone Flowers
Short Snaps
Celosia: Fresh Look Red & Fresh Look Orange
Tycoon Blue Ageratum
Dahlia
Salvia
Tropical Bronze Scarlet Canna
White Black Eyed Susan
Summer Nights Larkspur
Flowering Maple (Abutilon)
My Morning Glories are starting to get buds but went in late so no blooms yet, I can't wait though, and I don't think any of my Daylily's will flower this year as they were transfered from another garden a couple of weeks ago and don't have scapes yet so I figure I'm waiting 'till next year. Unless they do something later in the season maybe, I'm not positive they will adapt to the new soil as they are looking a little rough but I'm hoping they do.
