Bouncing Bet or Soapwort. Saponaria officinalis

Does anybody know how to get rid of this stuff without using roundup?
I have this growing in one of my flower beds among other flowers. I keep plucking at them and they return. I know now by reading that they make runners and pop-up anywhere.

Would the newspaper layers on the ground help get rid of them?
They're tough buggers to get rid of...

When I first made the bed I dugged so many out I thought I was good, But no they came back I guessed I missed some of the roots somewhere along the way.
If I would of known how invasive they were I would of used roundup then with the new bed before I planted.

They frustrate me more than the weeds do. Invasive I call them would like to curse the one that planted them in the first place. Practically impossible to get rid of.

Any solutions would be appreciated. But keep in mind I have other plants growing in the same bed...
