Grubs

Postby prizerosewinner » May 23, 2014 6:48 pm

I live in the Kawartha Lakes and many of us have a major grub problem.

I have done some research and found the SEVIN will kill garden grubs. Anybody else have an opinion on this please?

The problem with dumping insecticides to treat grubs, is that it also kills other benificial insects......that is why they banned most of the insecticides like sevin......
Try to live with nature rather than wage war with her......
Your lawn will repair itself.....reseed bare spots caused by grub damage

thanks Ian for your reply. I have 1/2 acre of lawn to deal with and top dressing and reseeding is too difficult for me.

If I don't use chemicals, I shall have to re sod and this is way too expensive for me.

I don't normally use chemicals, but this time, I think there is no other option. :x

Though more expensive, nematoes are more "earth friendly" than dumping chemicals...

FYI.....you will never rid yourself of grubs.....they will be back later in the season and annually as the adult beetles emerge and lay eggs......
