Something I never grew was pole beans
I do grow yellow beans tho. Love them and mustard bean pickles yummy.
I don't know how I would go about growing pole beans
Do you have pic?
That is something I should consider when I have small space for veggies and would love to grow a lot more variety than I do

I'm growing pole beans & cukes in containers on balcony.
My scarlett runner beans are finally starting to bear 'fruit'. BF they're growing up a trellis on my balcony, in a container that's about 23" in diameter and about 15' deep. It's a lovely lush vine, and I'm now seeing fruit developing nicely. I also have cukes growing in a container.

Thanks
yes I have runner beans growing like this and lots of cukes in the garden
I have container garden before and don't really enjoy it and a lot less veggies
I was thinking more in the line growing upwards, climbing on something similar but for a large crop
and why are yelow beans called Poles bean
They must be growing upwards on something and there must be a seed just for this kind of growth. Not the typical yellow bush bean like I have
I want to grow as many beans and cukes and toms upwards rather than to take up so much land space, not growing on the ground in rows
Darn !!!! I am not explaining this right but don't know any other way to explain it
thanks

i understand what you mean BF. I also want to grow things vertically, and not just beans, but cukes and other veggies.
When we finally by a house I'm going to have DH help me build trellises for the garden so I can grow lots of climbers and use the flatter wider spaces for squashes on the ground.

I used the wrong terminology
Vertical growing. Yes that is what I mean.
Veggies of a any kind as climbers

Re: Yellow Pole Beans
Well I now have an abundance of yellow pole beans! These things are freakishly large...wish I could post a pic.
Some of them are over 6" long, so you only need about 2 per serving lol! I wanted to harvest them when they were smaller, but they were still green.
I think I prefer the taste of the yellow bush beans over these freak beans!
