I've not grown pumpikin before, can't wait for halloween. But, now what? do I just leave them until they turn orange?

I'm jealous. My pumpkin plants all turned out to be MALE! what a disappointment, the same happened with most of my zuchinis. I only have two female zuchs, though luckily they are producing nicely, nothing eaten yet, but will have my first probably this weekend.

Ideally you should wait until it turns orange and the skin is hard.
