Re: My toms
You sound like me BF...I am out there every morning checking for ripe ones...can't wait much longer! Peas are done, well into the beans, and am now waiting on tomatoes & corn! Enjoy!!

Re: My toms
Lol,lol Yes cyndi
I am just anxious to eat them and I want them to be able to pick right off the vine
Not often I can pick and eat off the vine, we get frost too early
I always have to put them in brown papers bags and wait and wait again
I don't know of brown baging them if the flavor is the same as the vines or not I never have a chance to find out
I am assuming off the vines they are a lot nicer

Re: My toms
There was a year that I had so many tomatoes that there were several green ones just turning too. I wrapped each one individually in newsprint, stored them in a box for a few weeks or so. Opened up the box and they had nicely ripened! They did taste very good to my surprise. However you can't beat fresh off the vine!

Re: My toms
I normally do similar Linda but not newspaper
I find brown papers bags work the same tucked in a dark spot
I just looked at the plant
I have one just a tint of pink starting God smack me.!! lol,lol I just might be able to eat one end of this week, sometime, as we are supposed to get a really cold front move in over nite, dropping temps the"" high"" of 17 for the next 2 days and lots more heavy rain
Don't think they will ripen in that weather
Sniff sniff
Oh well maybe they will just taste better the longer I am""" forced to wait""
