Re: What a strange growing year!!!
And all the predictions said it was going to be a scorcher of a sjummer.
I watered today but then I have 2 concrete 'beds' built into the wall. They dry very quickly.
Can't complain about my potted tomatoes and cucumbers. They have produced enough to keep one person going. I grew the straight eights too, and so did BF.

Ha...was listening to the radio and Mr. David Philips, the National weather guy...he refused to make a comment on the winter, esp. since he was soooooo wrong with the summer!!!
Glad your potted veggies did well!

Well, I don't know wht we would do without our farmers
I think it has been just in the past year people are relizing how important they are to us for many reasons
After I saw the program on CBC wht happened to a lot of our farm land and farmers and only 20% of our produce actally comes from Canada
I know I know we all hate to pay more for produce but if it mean local, I do beleive they are worth every cents and this proves it
I bought corn on the cob at Superstore for 8 for $1.89
I just ate it or tried to.
I think it was cattle corn, very yellow and very tough
I was in a hurry yesterday doing things as my boss was with me and in a hurry to get back to my office or I would have dropped into our vey famous local farmer to get my corn
Yep, I would have paid $3.99 a doz but I would have enjoyed it too
People will drive 45 -60 min just to get their corn and other veggies
I think the coons and crows will get this tough old stuff, came from the US and I will pay the $4.00 for my corn and yes drive 30 min out of my way to get it
Our local corn will be in our stores next week but we can go and get it at the farm now
God bless our farmers and we need more of them and appareicate their hard work and respect their prices and pay them. FResh veggies only comes once a year
OK said nuff
