My Spring radishes of two long rows were a disaster due to the flea beetle, so I planted a fall crop on the 10 August 2008, and the radishes thrived with little insect damage. The next point is what are Easter Egg Radishes? Read all about them here. http://www.durgan.org/ShortURL/?KQVXB

Any idea what causes the different colours for these radishes ? is it just random, or will seeds from white radishes always produce white radishes ? and seed from lavender produce lavender coloured radishes ?

I have no idea of the why's of the amazing colour differences. All have a pleasant taste, good size, and texture. Certainly it was as surprise to see the variation. The seed packet was purchased more by accident than design, meaning that was all that was on the seed rack. Certainly they will be my choice for next year.I will also experiment more with the Fall planting, since the flea beetle was not so common, as in the Spring season.
