What is wrong with my toms
Just as they are ripening on the vine or when I bring them inside green and ripen in bags or on the windowsill, a black hole comes in them and they go mushy
I cut this one open thinking there is a worm or bug. nada.
What is causing this hole and then they are rotton and so fast.
I've garabged 4 in the past 2 days

butterfly,
Could it be anthracnose? It is a fungal disease common to tomatoes.

Re: What is wrong with my toms
I suspect we could fall prey to any fungal infection this year.
The problem we have is splitting on some varieties.
I have had a hard time getting our garlic to dry thoroughly, even in the sunporch. Even here some were threatening to get a bit of mold. I have never had that happen before.

Re: What is wrong with my toms
Fungus, molds etc love damp conditions, this summer being very damp has been (sadly) perfect for them to develop.
To my untrained eye it looks like blossom end rot.. are all these damaged spots on the same spot on the tomatoes ?

No it isn't blossum end rot
The hole comes on the sides of the tom
I just picked a whole big bag full and only one tom this time has it
In the freezer these will go
