Does someone know how to prepare crabapple juice?
It must be the productive year for the apples; I have crabapples coming out of my ears. I would like to make juice with some of them since the branches are in danger of breaking off. Plus, if I leave too many on the tree, they ferment and then the birds (who have consumed them) crash drunkenly into our windows.
I already made one batch of juice last week, but it was almost syrupy from all the pectin. Does anyone have a recipe that yields a thinner juice. I think it's just a matter of adjusting my water quantity.
BTW, I'm not canning the juice, just preparing a batch at a time.

Thanks Mervyn. I checked it out and it looks like I can increase the water amount quite a bit.
