Japanese Horseradish (wasabi)

Postby joarc » Oct 10, 2008 3:17 pm

Hi all. I've hunted high and low for some Japanese Horseradish (ie. Wasabi) so I can try growing it up north here but can't even find seed to plant. Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanx all!

What zone are you in? Japanese horseradish is a difficult plant to grow and take 3-5 years to yield anything significant.

You can order the fresh rhizomes from Pacific Coast Wasabi. They were quite expensive when I ordered mine a year or so ago, paying over $100.00 for a half pound, but they were healthy and have grown well.
