Strawberry plant, important question.

Last year my girl friend stuck part of a strawberry in one of my pots, on our porch. It actually came up. We were not sure at first if it was the strawberry or not. It looks just like one and has several runner but the leaves, are so huge people are starting to tell us they can't be strawberries, never seen leaves so many large. I need an expert opinions.So any person tell me what is this?
