I bought very cheap black plastic pots for 1.25$ (16-inch) at a local nursery to dump my extra pepper plants in. Can't get cheaper than that...

My brother grows his collection of hot peppers in pots all the time and he is very successful. I vote for moveable pots too.

I'd put the cayenne in the spot that has no fence if there was no other choice. They don't seem to like the spicy peppers much. Try adding compost to enrich the soil, and be sure to use rain water to water.
