'Temptation' Strawberries

Postby Heidi S » Jun 23, 2012 1:35 pm

Just came home from the Farmer's Market - a rare opportunity off work on Saturday morning. I picked up 5 'Temptation' strawberry plants ($2 each) - an ever-bearing variety that is apparently good for short season and container growing. Short season sure describes my area!

I lost all but 2 of my strawberry plants last winter, unusual, but we had unusually bad weather. So, I will pot these into a container for now and move them into the bed when fall comes - too much else going on right now where I will want them. MMM, strawberries.

We also picked up some artisanal brick-oven bread, buffalo steaks, some fresh greens and radishes, and the first cherries to arrive from the Okanagan, Yea! A cup of coffee and a lemon, anise biscotti each, and home we came. The thunderstorm even waited till we pulled in to the driveway.

Bliss...
