This version is from 2006. MareE is the keeper of the Fictionary and she hasn't been around very much for the past while. I miss her.

I have a small batch of pickles that are ready to be picked. Maybe 3 1-L jars worth. Not much.. but what the heck, use it or lose it. May as well use it.
Sauté prawns in a garlic and add pickles.
This may not sound great to you, too simple but taste really good.

Re: In Need of a GREAT Pickle Recipe
Simple = Better
But, no one here eats prawns.
Wouldn't one have to put the pickle jar in a pressure canner if adding meat/fish to it, which in turn would make a real mushy pickle?
So this must be a refrigerator type I take it?
TY for the tip though!
EDIT:
I have about 15 jars worth picked today. If anyone wants me to try anything, feel free..

Try making chow or mustard pickles.... something different. You'll have to look up a recipe. I'll bet Laura has some good ones though. Being an east coaster and they have make really good pickles!

I don't seem to have mustard pickles in my books. I only looked fast. Might have missed it.

Re: In Need of a GREAT Pickle Recipe
hm one of those recipe's uses cukes instead of small pickling cukes. I doubled checked my books and they call for cukes as well, not pickling cukes.
Though the list you pasted has some that uses pickle cukes. And I see some that use those pearl onions. Hmmmm...
Will decide tonight I guess.
