They look like runner beans to me, not what NA green beans look like.
Those are the sort of beans I grew up with - my father always grew Scarlet Runner Beans; my favourite in the whole wide world! laf!
Top and tail them, slice them on the diagnonal, quickly cook in boiling salted water for 4 or 5 minutes max, and they're ready to eat!
Dumbo's instructions for freezing are okay, except I wouldn't cook them for as long as 2 minutes - more like 1 minute! Otherwise follow his instructions.
