1 Post reply button needs to be at the bottom of each page. Having the threads show as descending just isn't an acceptable workaround.

Default font in the reply box needs to be larger.

Ads/Banners take up too much room at the right side of the page.

Incredibly hard to read.

Oh, and Yeah......WHY THE HECK DO WE HAVE TO RE-REGISTER?????

Where are all the old posts and info?

Whose bright idea was this anyways?

There needs to be an Edit button.

There needs to be a proper USER CP, that doesn't involve finding a post made, clicking the username, and then PM. The USER CP should be accessible from "my account".

Sorry, I know I'm griping, but this is a mess. The pages don't render properly in Firefox or Safari, and NOT everyone uses IE!

Yes you did and we're gonna blame all the troubles on you!!! :P

I believe that is one of the bugs that needs fixing.

Skwij, (so much for asking for one question at a time!!LOL) I'll go bottom to top. The powers that be???

The old posts are all there...you just have to scroll down...past all the OMG WHAT THE H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS HAPPENED HERE posts.

The reason everyone has to re-register is because they were not able to copy over the user accounts to this format/forum. The developers are trying to import the accounts but they haven't figured out how yet...

Last...I find descending much easier to work with if I am following a thread. Otherwise if I've already been reading 6 pages, I don't want to have to scroll through all six pages before I get to the end. IMHO...But If you are reading a whole bunch of new threads then it won't work so well...BUT there is the option to temporarily change that for each thread. There really should be a post Reply button at the top and the bottom.

As for the font and banners...that wasn't a question...can't do anything for you there...

skwij...we know we know...They are working on it.

Just in case others didn't catch it the last 15 times Lyn and I have mentioned it...including in the original post...THE DEVELOPERS OF THIS SITE ARE CONTINUING TO MAKE CHANGES AND WORK OUT BUGS AND GLITCHES. THIS IS A DIRECT QUOTE FROM AN EMAIL LYN RECEIVED EARLIER TODAY:

Some other issues we will be fixing are:
- layout of the topic detail pages
- pagination on each forum page
- automatically scaling down images so they fit in the space provided
- various usability/functionality improvements.

Again...please be patient while the fine tuning continues!

K

I'm sorry to say, but they completely failed this upgrade, on all sides of it.

-No planning what so ever
-No testing before upgrading
-No development of currently available functions
-Failed data conversion for user accounts
-No training for moderators
-No support for users and moderators
-Moderators left alone to deal with frustrated users
-No warning for users
-Upgrade done in the middle of summer, worst time because of high traffic for gardeners with questions
-I could go on.... total failure.

I've implemented alot of IT solutions over the years, some with budgets greater then 3M$, these mistakes wouldn't have happened if this had been well planned ahead.

Poor moderators, I really feel your pain. Left alone to deal with this, CG IT personnel should have supported us and help answer our questions.

I would recommend we write a letter to CG and let them know how this situation turned out. I know we are not paying customers, but an angry forum user will most likely never click on an ad or banner.

Andre...the only thing I can say in response is that they did test it somewhat. To what degree I do not know.
I found out inadverdently through another forum member who had received what she thought was a suspicious email under the guise of CG. Turns out it was a test of some sort for this site. Didn't know it at the time. But now I do!

I am also NOT an IT person so I have absolutely no clue about what goes on behind the scenes. I only know it's probably not as easy as most of us non-techies think it should be.

The only thing Lyn and I can help out with is the functionality of the forum. Which is, admittedly by the "powers" to be sub-par...that is to say, there are improvements in the works. Within the week.

Hope we all can keep calm and try to work with what we do have at this time.

Thank you and Good night! :|

I don't think they tested it much, in a normal upgrade cycle, you're suppose to fix bugs before going live with the upgrade... not after.

I know you're doing your best Kelly and surely you must be as disapointed as we are.

Disapointed?? Nah, not really. I accept that upgrades happen. Just frustrated...mostly because I seem to be beating around the same damn bush...over and over and over again.

Again..I don't know the IT end of things...Just trying to keep the personal end intact.

And Lyn had the gall to keep her previously made plans to see Mama Mia and leave me to the wolves!! 8)
