Distorted avatars

I keep trying different avatars but they always come out distorted

why!

That's something that is being looked at. Some people can't load one at all and that is being looked into as well.

There is off the shelf forum software, that does everything anyone could want. Designing a forum from scratch is like re-inventing the wheel.It appears to me the forum change is fixing something that was not broken.

The display is anemic in appearance, and frankly a pain in the ass.
