User Control panel at the bottom of page

Does anyone else find that it tosses you right back to the index board and logs you out?

Nope...but if you are away from the forum for any length of time it auto times you out

Nope, not away from the computer at all. I always close when I leave the computer. I have been logged off a couple of times when using various functions. The UCP thing at the bottom is one and if I click on my name in a right hand column rather than a left hand one.....
