Chef Redoux is nothing but trouble - now he's hijacked my thread!
Back to the topic at hand... a recipes section...I checked out the Food & Entertaining link above, and well...didn't really find a lot of variety in the recipes or anything that was of any interest to me.
The point of a recipe section (as opposed to just looking at other recipe sites) is that it builds on the community spirit and trust that already exists here. I can't find that at recipes.com
I know people have requested a recipe section previously and I don't recall if there has been an official answer. Mods?

Re: Recipes section?
I love to cook, but am not really a baker! I find it hard to have to weigh and measure - I like to put in a bit of this and a dash of that! lol
Anyway, we're invited to a BBQ on 30 August, (or thereabouts), and all the ladies are going to be taking a 'pie' for dessert! I'd love to find something easy, not too sweet, and delicious! Made from scratch though. A banana cream pie comes to mind, but I've never made one! Anyone have any other suggestions?

Re: Recipes section?
I worked in small town restaurant for awhile while going to school. They had a great banana cream pie. Slice bananas in the bottom of a pie shell, top it with a vanilla custard filling and top with more sliced bananas or whipped cream or both. Simple and easy!
Pepper, being as how this is primarily a gardening site, I don't think the administrators would be inclined to set up a specific room for recipes. You would probably be directed to the sister site at Canadian Home and COuntry. However, starting a thread for recipes in the OTGF room is perfectly acceptable. We've done it off and on at different times and it's worked out well.
