lets return to the old .... true and trusted
Could we just not return to our old and familiar Canadian
Gardening and forget about this nightmare of the new and
improved?
Surely the previous format can be salvaged.

I don't think that's a possibility BW. It was nice and comfortable but unfortunately change is inevitable.

I would like it too as everyone else if it worked right
There are still users who cannot get on or post
so this new format snuffed them out
I don't call that an easy or nice forum

Re: lets return to the old .... true and trusted
Although I have managed to navigate the new forum, I am as ticked off as everyone else. Surely, by now, some of the most basic problems could have been solved. Why do we still have to sign in every time we try to access the forum? All of these problems should have been worked out BEFORE they changed the format.
I am missing some really great contributors. The 'user friendliness' has disappeared.
I think CG were hoping to get many more 'lookers' to all the new adverts, but the reverse seems to have happened. More adverts, less 'lookers', because a lot of those potential customers have either not been able to contribute to the forum, or can't be bothered because of all the problems.
It seems to me that we have to 'click' so many times before we get to the place we want to be.
People are not so chatty, as it's such an interrupted conversation.
I'm still not getting all notifications by email to threads I am participating in.

It's now a bit of a chore. I will continue to try to participate, as I have met so many great people through this Forum, but it is much harder work!

Obviously being able to go back into one's last post to correct a couple of mistakes would be good!

I agree on all counts BBQ
I Used to get notifcations on this new forumbut when they merged, I don't get them any more
I think the reason this forum is not as chatty as you say, just too much worrk to bother. Then there are those shut out
I hate having to sign in every time login and login in to reply and no editing
I guess I complained about this a lot
But surely to intoduce editing isn't that much time and work
