dumb question

Hi there,
I haven't been on here since before the new website and was wondering if you could clarify one thing for me. I can't seem to figure out what the circles on the left side of the forum topics mean. Some are blue and some red with lines. Sometimes stars appear and sometimes an i (I figured that one out) What does the blue or red mean and the stars?

An alliterative explanation.

Blue means that all posts in that thred have been red . . by u. Red means that there are posts in that thred that u haven't red.

Stars indicate that u have posted in that thred.

Clear as mud? lol
