Has anyone else noticed there are more spam posts, than member posts?

Yes ... they have really been doing overtime in the spam department lately.

That is just too funny Laura, but soooo true.

Forums are as great, mediocre or lousy as its' membrship involvement, and except for the few "bright spots" of involvement (you are one Laura, and thanks for that) this really has become a prime spammers forum

Seems to me it is waste of their time but I guess they must get a lot of business this way.It is pretty annoying when they post so many times with the same thing.

I would like to cut 'em off at the pass though .... I am not very tech smart but isn't there a filter for this kind of thing ?

There is, but unfortunately that would mean there could be no links posted for the regulars (blogs, leads to catalogues...)
They are not really bothersome to me if they are on here for a part of the day, but when they are here for days on end, it does get a little tiring. When a post is reported, you would think the admin would remove them, or at least act as though they care enough to.

Yes ... it does get annoying at times.It was much better when we had a guy actually on the forum from administration but I guess that is no longer the case.

I know running a forum is time consuming but this one really needs some attention.

I am having to sign in each time now as the page does not remember me any more.

Since I no longer moderate I don't get on here to remove the spam postings. This is something that needs to brought directly to the Webmaster's attention and fixed from their end. Although this "room" is called Feedback it isn't monitored unless it brought to their attention. I know Kelly is busy and does not always have time to check the forums and remove the spam. It has become quite prolific hasn't it? It could be a full time job controlling the spam.

Yes Lyn ... we are hearing a lot from the spammers this fall ... trying to make their christmas budget maybe .. lol.

It's a problem on a lot of forums I guess.

Ahh, I didn't realize it was the Mods that took care of a reported post, I thought when a post was reported, it automatically went to the webmaster. Always learning.
