Thank you, folks...my favourite is one I don't have...the old fashioned wild Aquilegia/Columbine...single mauvey-pink petals outthrust, yellow centres...long slender stalk, few leaves...looks so pretty in a bud vase.
BF, I am pretty sure that pink one of mine is supposed to be yellow...made become yellow as time goes by...I too like the white one a lot.

wow, Liz,,never really liked columbines, except for one blue and white I used to have, always thought they don't give out too many blooms for the size of the plant,,,,,but,,your pics have made me rethink this beautiful flower!

Liz these are the ones I love....They do not suffer from Leaf Miner
like the Hybrids.
I really love your white one...it makes me weak in the knees.

OHHHH, K...just look at that...like finding the most beautiful butterfly ever!
I do not grow things in abundance, I grow an abundance of different things...I like finding a spray of something...(I also adore bushes of things, but space is limited here)
I did check out the Vesey's (was it?) for Columbines...yes, very very like what I was thinking of for old fashioned....we once took a visiting guest to a very posh Fr. restaurant and each table had a bud vase with a single spray of the old-fashioned Columbine on it...'tis a gift to be simple, absolutely.
