Aww! Cute! Never thought of putting the empty peanut butter jars out for the critters.

Thank you Sharon and everyone else for sharing the pictures of the prennial geraniums. They are all very, very beautiful. I have absolutely fallen in love with these plants.
At present I only have one in my garden, "Alba;" although, I would love to have a number of others. I am really enjoying having "Alba" in my garden; however, I may have to consider moving her as she is kind of a bit too close to one of my rhubarb plants. I am expecting though that it will be the rhubarb getting moved.

Hi Everyone,
Just wondering how hardy you find Gallardia to be and how drought tolerant it may be?
It's another of those plants that I really like the look of and would like to add to my garden; however, the area where it would go is relatively open to winter's northwesterly winds.
Thank you.

Hi Caleb...not sure of the hardiness of Gallardia's but I do know they are quite drought resistant...had some in a past garden that was pretty much in a field, very open to very harsh winds in the winter but got little or no watering in the summer. I'd say it was close to a zone 4 in that spot, although it is in a zone 5 area...

I find it depends on which Gaillardia it is. The Burgandy and the Goblin are both very hardy and drought resistant for me. I have not had much luck with Oranges & Lemon or the Fan Fare.
When checking the hardiness at my favourite online resource http://www.perennials.com/ I see that the first two are rated for lower zones than the other two, so that would be the reason why.
