Pansy...your tree is lovely. I planted a couple at my other house, but we moved before they really came into their own. Thanks for sharing.

Re: ALPHABET SOUP ~~ I
I love irises, but I can only grow the really hardy ones. One year, I bought about seven specialty bearded irises (Supreme Sultan being one of them), and not one overwintered.
Here are a couple that do manage to live in my garden (one Siberian and one bearded):

Impatiens

Koot, my guess for your mystery plant is darmera peltata.

Love the I's with all those gorgeous irises.
Now here is an I that might be seen more under the M's, but I am going to use it here.
Ipomoea purpurea Heavenly Blue
I dithered over irises or impatiens and finally decided with this container of impatiens that behaved so nicely all summer long on my sitting area.
Like Sharon, I also have iberis and after seeing hers with the fern leaf peony, I know where I will be transplanting some iberis this spring.

Beautiful Iris. I really like them but they always become
infested with that horrid little borer so I will just enjoy all
of yours.

I will definitely be looking for Katherine iris this year!
Donna.....maybe you'd have better luck with some already growing in a cold climate..give me a holler in July if you'd like to try a few. have some that will require thinning. I'll take pics this spring so I can show you what I have.

Koot, your unknown looked very familiar to me. I saw a picture of it in the Dominion Seed catalogue. It is Astilboides Tabularis
