My clivia bloomed!
I was pleasantly surprised to find my clivia blooming; it is several years old and has never bloomed before...so, don't know what I did right this time, but I'll take it nevertheless. Does any one know why there isn't much of a stalk?

Perhaps it is in too bright of a place and it doesn't need to 'reach'.
Just a thought.

clivias are sort of like tulips/daffs/other spring bulbs. If the cold period/dormancy period isn't long enough, their stalks will be short

Thank you for the info, my clivia blooms every year, but 2 years ago, the stalk was very short. Now I know why.
