our first photo of a cardinal
Just wanted to share our first successful shot of a Cardinal! Usually they are so shy and fly away before we can even spot them, never mind have enough time to grab a camera and focus on it! Well done to my dh!

What a thrill for you! Well done hubby!
They're very common in our area, and we have them all year long - there are at least two breeding pairs in our garden at the moment.
But, I always get a jolt of excitement when I see one, or both, several times a day.

So pretty, yet to have any in my backyard but maybe someday. There are some nesting only about 30 km from me that were never seen in that area before so I keep hoping.

We have (I think) two pairs close to me. This year I have heard them calling, but haven't seen them yet. I have today off and just noticed that the recent winds torm destroyed my feeder (I run it out on the clothesline). Fortunately, I had planned a nice walk to the local garden centre, so I have another purchase to do.

. I love how they send their little "cheeps" out as if the are testing out their environment with RADAR.
LOL, thanks for reminding me what the actually look like!
