Some Daylily Progress
We would seem to be in mid-daylily season. I have a lot of pics of a lot of varieties so will add some as clickable thumbs. (Click any for larger image)
Our Octoberfest bed has lots of both daylies and coneflowers and they coexist quite nicely. 'Strutter's Ball' amidst......

This is a seedling daylily that originated from seed of Hello Dolly, quite an interesting smokey peach.
Floret
This is Hello Dolly...she has very large peach coloured blooms.

Still on a "peachy" theme is this one with no name!

Frans Hall has just started to bloom, so should be with us for quite sometime.

Sunday Gloves is one of the two near whites we have.

The other is Ice Carnival, a very prolific. long bloomer.

'Sparkle' has been with us for about 3 years, and I still don't really like it much! It always seems to be a bit splotchy looking.

Prairie Blue Eyes is a dependable favourite....

Hyperion is another old variety, whcih definitely does best in full sun. Quite a tall, elegant yellow.

Speaking of tall .......Bama Music- always too tall for her own good.

Silk' Honey is the yellow half in this pic; Parden Me, the red,

A yellow, bicolour called Magic Dawn.

Jolene Nicole has done very well this year, perhaps I gave her a bit more space.

Orange shades aren't my favourite, but this 'Double Bold One' demands a certain respect.

Canadian Border Patrol continues to struggle here in our domain...... a shame really!

Love the daylilies! That peachy seedling is very pretty indeed. Mine are just starting so I should see colour for quite awhile.

Perhaps they were waiting for you to finish vacation!. Wouldn't want to miss anything!
We have a couple of reds just starting.
One unnamed....
Ed Murray...may be late due to his slightly shadier location. A bit of shade seems good for those dark colours.

Beauties Sharon! I guess mine were waiting for me.
Smitty - one thing about Daylilies, those lily beetles don't bother with them.

Re: Some Daylily Progress
Very nice selection there Sharon. The Frans Hall I got from you is doing really well but then again, all my daylillies seem to love the weather this summer.
Maybe I will post mine and learn their names.

Beautiful daylilies, Sharon. I just about bought Canadian Border Patrol this year, but I remember your comments about its hardiness. If it doesn't thrive for you, chances are, it won't make it in my garden!
I'm partial to dark red daylilies, so that Ed Murray really caught my eye. Did you get yours via mail order? I haven't seen it locally.
