Here's our tiny front yard city garden. The great bones ( thanks to the previous owner ) make it a lovely place year round.

I'm adding a pic of it in spring as well.

What a contrast, mebbie! Pretty both ways, though I do prefer the summer look. You have a LOT Of snow; we have none, eerily.

Thanks Trailblaze...Actually that is a picture from last year. At the moment all the snow is gone. But the wind doth blow
And we shall have snow
And what will the robin do then
Poor thing.

We've no Robins, but loads of other birds at our feeder.

Thanks, since that day we have had mostly rain with just a smattering of snow now and again.

Mebbie, your garden is very pretty in any season.

Now I did hear a robin the other day but hope he has left by now. Actually I have a few birds that are still here that I don't usually see in the winter. Maybe when we get real winter they will leave but I have been feeding a song sparrow, a grackle, cowbirds, and a blackbird that normaly are gone to the costal or warmer regions of Nova Scotia for the winter months by now.

I do have a large amount of birds that enjoy my feeders year round and here are some Evening Grosbeaks that I see more in the winter time than in the summer.

Hi Earwig...I just love your feeder-old man of the woods.
Could I sneak into your garden and steal it?
What time would be best?

My son and his wife had 2 large trees that died,. They had a chain saw carver come and scupt them- marvelous and a wonder to watch. He used 7 different sizes of saws.
They have Old man of the woods with an owl on his wild hair. They other is a soaring eagle.

Thanks for sharing the pic.

What a great idea, mebbie! I must go out and see if any of our old, dead or downed trees can be turned into chainsaw sculptures. My hubby isn't good at that sort of thing, but maybe a local neighbour might want to do some artistic work on our property - what fun that could be!

Thanks for the idea!

Beautiful photos of the frost & snow. Just lovely. At least winter can make things pretty sometimes too!
