Thanks Kat, lichens and fungi are quite fascinating. So many different varieties.
That Iris is gorgeous Clara! I think I've found another love.
Beautiful Lavender Kat. It doesn't survive for me....

Re: Alphabet Soup ....L....
I just about missed "L" (being internetless for several days)
I couldn't choose just one lily, so here is a clickable thumb for a slideshow of mostly August lilies.

A favourite shrub is Leucothoe(Fetterbush)....we have two varieties L. fontaneisiana(Drooping leucothoe) and L. axillaris( the Coastal Leucothoe)
Both have great year round foliage, cute little white flowers in the sprng and beaurifully coloured new growth. (click for larger image)
Lavender always seems to be a challenge. One would think having relatively dry, sandy, well-drained soil it would thrive a bit better...we persist!

Re: Alphabet Soup ....L....
Sharon you have many beautiful Lilies. I was looking at the slide show but only got to the No ID and a couple more then got a message,,,photo bucket not responding.
Your "NoID" looks like it could be "Dizzy Lily". I had several of the same lilies that you have but lost them one year to moles. They burrowed in the Lily bed and just made a mess,,ARRG!!

Clara....I tried the slideshow and didn't encounter any problem, perhaps Photobucket was having a "moment"
I also relabeled one that was incorrect....we had a slight identity crisis with our Lilium canadense and Lilium superbum!
L. canadense blooms quite some time before the other.
Cheers
