Re: ALPHABET SOUP - P
Hokay, I found the Pinky Winky hydrangea photo.... This was just a wee thing in the early spring, and grew like crazy and had about 20 blooms on it. I was astonished. And my Pieris did very well last year for the first time. I brought it here from Victoria and it was mad at me about that for about 11 years. And this oriental poppy is quite nice. Divided it up last year, so we shall see. Fortunately for you folks there will be no more pomes, I hope.

There are lots of items for "P soup", so guess I will post the slideshow with lots of examples. (Click to view & for larger images)

Perhaps this collage of Pieris would be in order.... the new growth of Pieris is one of its virtues.
Persicaria polymorpha

Pieris was part of my late Mom's garden forever. But alas, it is not hardy in my area so I can only enjoy it when visiting warmer climes. That goes for Kalmia too - both were favourites of Mom and me. Thanks for your photos, gardeners!

Kat, yer pomes are always a lovely and welcome surprise so please keep them coming.
Wow! I'd like a Pieris but I see they can get quite large indeed! Are there any small shrub sized ones out there?

Am glad you found your "pinky winky" Kat! Is a lovely critter.
Am posting a few Ps today...when you gotta p, you gotta p!
Goodness knows what order they'll come up in, but here is a Passionflower, a Pineapple Plant, and some of the Petticoat Hydrangea.
That add in line thingie does not work for me...I had to remove 3 passionflower attachments after posting PROPERLY, the other two flowers. And it is SLOW.
