~ ALPHABET SOUP Q ~
Re: ~ ALPHABET SOUP Q ~
Clara, I was thinking of putting mittens on the magnolia buds last night...c-c-cold out there after all that nice hot weather!
I had to chuckle , you would need a lot of mittens,LOL
Thanks Clara and Kat...glad you enjoyed the photo. Cleome Rose Queen is one of my favourite annuals as a hummer magnet. Often self seeds so buy once and grow forever-laf! [size=85]It was included as one of six of my photos in Bird & Blooms "Best of 2011
CONGRATULATIOS Carol, I love Birds & Blooms . I have a pile of those mags. from several yrs. ago.Thinking I should subscribe again.

I didn't think to snap at the back lane Quince, darn it...smaller flowers than Kat's got in hers.
Niece, that's a strange blue...not sure if I like it or not...certainly as vivid as INK, isn't it? Striking, definitely.
Bluebird, I had to go back and look for the flower...too busy looking at the hummer...dang you are GOOD!
K..did you sedate Max?
Congrats to everyone and their Qs!
I will just be Quiet, now.

Re: ~ ALPHABET SOUP Q ~
Not many Oaks growing around here alas, never mind a Quercis rubra. How tall will they grow?
Red Oak is a magnificent tree IMHO, I suspect thay would be close to 75Ft. tall(maybe more) as they reach maturity. They also tend to have quite a width. None of ours are much more than 15 years of age, but are ~20Ft. now.
Cheers
